The Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged requires Community Transportation Coordinators (CTC) to develop and implement Transportation Disadvantaged Service Plans. Charlotte County Transit is the CTC for Charlotte County. “Transportation disadvantaged” refers to individuals who are unable to transport themselves or purchase transportation. Their disadvantage may be due to physical or mental disability, income status, or age.
The Transportation Disadvantaged program is a curb-to-curb transportation service at a discounted rate. The service operates to connect passengers to medical centers, pharmacies, grocery stores and other similar destinations.
